1.HREM-Filters Pro v5.0A new background mode, “Whole/Elaborate,” has been added to the Local2D Filter. This mode significantly reduces processing time by applying abackground estimated from the entire region to each local area.In addition, processing speeds have also been improved for the existing“Quick” and “Elaborate” background modes by optimizing the code.Furthermore, a bug affecting the “Quick …
1. IMC21 in LiverpoolWe will be attending the 21st International Microscopy Congress (IMC21),which will be held in Liverpool, UK, from August 31st. Our booth is #232.If you are attending the conference, please stop by our booth. We will give the following poster presentation:IP3 037: ALCHEMI down to nm resolution using the DigitalMicrographplug-in QED
1. SmartAlign v4.0 releasedIn this version, compared to v3.1, the processing for non-rigid registration is made more than 10 times faster when using an NVIDIA GPU, and nearly 3 times faster even without a GPU. Additionally, SmartSearch feature has been added to assist data collection. This is a major update. Therefore, older licenses may require a …
1. GPA v4.14A new command, Fringe spacing, has been implemented. GPA measures the strain relative to a reference lattice, which sometimes causes confusion. For example, in a SiGe layer grown in perfect epitaxy on Si, compression occurs parallel to the interface, yet the strain is displayed as zero. The new command displays the interplanar spacing …
1. qDPC/STEMx module v1.3.3The STEMx module can now handle integer-type 4D-STEM data. 2. FTSR v2.5.1Fixed a bug in the data acquisition script for TSR.
1. xHREM v5.4.1Recently, we have received a couple of reports of errors caused by the use of multi-byte characters in filenames. Therefore, we decided to modify the code to allow the use of multibyte characters in filenames.Another big improvement: Because STEM calculations are time-consuming, you can forcibly interrupt the calculation at any point and then …
1.qDPC v1.4The commands for drawing the field vector map and changing its appearance have been significantly improved. Now, you can set the appearance of the field vector map at the initial drawing. Additionally, you can preview the appearance immediately after making changes. Please try them out!
1.QED V2.0 – ALCHEMI modeALCHEMI (Atom Location by Channeling-Enhanced Microanalysis) is a useful technique for studying substitutional atoms (dopants) in crystals. The ALCHEMI mode implemented in QED v2.0 enables ALCHEMI in nm-order regions. The current QED users can use the ALCHEMI mode without updating the license. 2.GPA v4.13.1A bug in the Setup dialog of Define …
Higashimatsuyama, Saitama, Japan (Feb. 27, 2026):HREM Research Inc. has announced the release of QED v2.0 with the ALCHEMI mode. The ALCHEMI mode enables dopant analysis from a nm-order area, which has never been possible before. ALCHEMI (Atom Location by Channeling Enhanced Microanalysis) is a useful technique for studying substitutional atoms (dopants) in crystals. However, the …
1.DeConvEELS/SI module v4.0The capability of deconvolution continuation has been improved(Continue command), the ability to save and display intermediateprocessing results has been added (Show Log command), andthe ability to display the processing results of each spectrum hasbeen added for the SI Module(Extract Log command). This is a must-have update for DeConvEELS users. 2.Microscopy Meeting of This YearThis …
